Notification of a virus
Viruses are a great cause for concern as they can disrupt regular operations or be used to hijack computer systems and steal both personal and corporate data. As such Mailsphere treats the threat of viruses with a great deal of seriousness and scans all email running both inbound and outbound through the email filters for any malicious code.
If you receive a notification that a virus has been detected it will identify who the sender was. If the email was an inbound email then the intended recipient is informed via the notification instantly. If the sender is a contact that you have regular contact with it is recommended to inform them of this incident so that they can work with their IT team to resolve the threat.
If you are identified as the sender of the email containing a virus then we request that you contact your IT team immediately to establish whether your local system is infected.
