We recognise the need to protect and manage any personally identifiable information ("Personal Information") you share with us. "Personal Information" means any information that may be used to identify an individual, including, but not limited to, a first and last name, pen name, online alias, personal profile, a home or other physical address, an e-mail address or other contact information.
The Information We Collect
Mailsphere may store your usage history of the Platform. That includes the information that you entered (such as search queries and login information), information that is supplied by your web browser such as Internet domain and host names; Internet protocol (IP) addresses; browser software and operating system types; clickstream patterns; and dates and times that our Platform is accessed. Some information may be stored by us in a personally identifiable manner, i.e. it is tied to your user account. Other general information is not tied to any specific user. In some cases, we use third party tools to log website usage statistics, in which case some of this data (but not the Personal Information) may be accessible to those third parties.
What We Do With It
We use the collected information to improve the overall website usability and performance based on common usage patterns collected from all users. If you register and provide your email address, we may from time to time, and you give us permission, to use this address to communicate with you. Primarily, we use our Platform for letting our users know about new features and soliciting feedback.
The Way We Use Personal Information
We may disclose your Personal Information if we have a good faith belief that disclosure of such information is helpful or reasonably necessary to i) comply with any applicable law, regulation, legal process or governmental request, ii) detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues, or iii) protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of Mailsphere, the Platform, its users, yourself or the public.
Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies
Some of our Platform pages may utilise "cookies" and other tracking technologies. A "cookie" is a small text file that may be used, for example, to collect information about Platform activity. Some cookies and other technologies may serve to recall Personal Information previously indicated by a Platform user. Most browsers allow you to control cookies, including whether to accept them and how to remove them. If you choose to erase or block your cookies, you may need to re-enter certain identifying information to gain access to certain parts of the Platform.
In the Event of Merger, Sale, or Bankruptcy
In the event that Mailsphere is acquired by or merged with a third party, we reserve the right, in any of these circumstances, to transfer or assign the information we have collected from our users as part of such merger, acquisition, sale, or other change of control. In the unlikely event of our bankruptcy, insolvency, reorganisation, receivership, or assignment for the benefit of creditors, or the application of laws or equitable principles affecting creditors' rights generally, we may not be able to control how your Personal Information is treated, transferred, or used.
